Winner of ‘The Pan’Artisan Focaccia Romana Sandwich Designer of The Year’ category at The Sammies Awards 2017 announced

The Sammies 2017As proud sponsor of the ‘Pan’Artisan Focaccia Romana Category’, part of the Sandwich Designer of The Year competition at this year’s Sammies Awards, we are delighted to announce the winner as Kate Riley, of Bait Sandwiches, having impressed the judges with her Falafel Fattoush.

The Grand Final, which took place at The Lancaster London Hotel on 11th May 2017, challenged the entrants to produce unique sandwich recipes, displaying creativity and innovation, to produce commercially viable sandwiches, whilst showcasing ingredients supplied by the awards’ sponsors, which in this case included Pan’Artisan’s Focaccia Romana, itself an award-winning, Italian artisan bread.

We challenged contestants to highlight the versatility of our 250g Focaccia Romana and were certainly not disappointed! Kate’s creation included the use of halloumi, hummus, tahini and jalapeños, as well as various salad ingredients, and mint. The bread was then folded and toasted to produce a highly impressive sandwich.
