As proud sponsors of the National Pizza Awards for the third year running, we offer huge congratulations to Filippo Rosato, head chef at Purezza, who created his award winning vegan ‘Parmigiana Party’ pizza at the event held at Islington Metalworks, London on the 3rd October 2018.
Filippo’s innovative, vegan pizza took top spot along with the £1,000 cash prize, beating thirteen other finalists, which were made up of chefs from across the casual dining, quick serve, pub, bar and hotel industries. Judging criteria included consideration over texture, quality and consistency, flavour profile, choice of ingredients and how the base is made.
Thrilled with his win, he had this to say;
“It’s unbelievable – to get this sort of recognition for something that I love is the best feeling I’ve had. I’m really proud, because I really believe in this project. I started to believe in vegan food in 2015, and to spend time with Tim and Stefania (Purezza founders) and join them on this trip, and now to win this award, is something that I’m really proud of.
